Carrying large amounts of cash to make payments is both inconvenient and unsafe. This is the reason why businesses such as shop owners, restaurants, home-based businesses, professional services (e.g., physicians, attorneys), mail order/telephone order merchants, mobile merchants (e.g., taxi drivers and limousine services) that want to accept credit cards, debit cards for their customers’ purchases use a third payment processor.
Though they have to pay an initial setup fee as well as a fee on every transaction, the increased sales offset the additional cost.
